The Patriarchal Service Cross is awarded for service to the Imperial Roman Church or to the arts, sciences, or humanity. It is given at the personal discretion of the Papa-Catholicos or upon recommendation by a senior official of the Stephenian Curia.

The postnominals are "PSC" in English and "CSP" in Italian. In precedence it ranks immediately below the Order of Merit in terms of merit/service decorations, and immediately below the Pilgrim's Cross overall.
